El Pedral is a charming and intimate lodge right on the beach among dunes and rugged cliffs at Punta Ninfas, looking out over the Golfo Nuevo and Peninsula Valdes. It is a great lodge for wildlife lovers out on its own but a bit more accessible than lodges out on Peninsula Valdes itself. It is also a superb location specifically for seeing the Southern Right whale migration in August and September, often seen right from the lodge as the ocean here is deep close to shore. The lodge is open from Sep-Jan and also in Aug, Feb-Mar if booked in its entirety for groups of family or friends. They also have their own penguin colony project to improve breeding habitat and the numbers grow every year.
See the wonderful range of wildlife from whales to elephant seals, sealions and penguins here with options for boat trips, kayaking, trekking, riding, 4×4 safaris, fishing, snorkelling and even sandboarding, as well as a pool which makes it good for families. The lodge is characterised by quirky Norman style architecture and comfortable rooms in the main lodge or a neighbouring guesthouse with traditional local style furnishings. Then there is a lounge with fireplace, restaurant with bar (Patagonian lamb is a particular highlight) and snooker room.
